The Academy of Advanced Manufacturing

Home

Manufacturing is changing – Now more quickly than ever before. From dirty, dark, and dangerous to clean and high-tech, automation and digital transformation are changing the way the factory floor operates, along with the skills and talent needed to fill these critical technology roles. Faced with an ever-widening skills gap, an estimated 2.4M manufacturing jobs could go unfilled by the year 2028 (Deloitte). To bridge this gap, ManpowerGroup and Rockwell Automation are proud partners of the Academy of Advanced Manufacturing, training and upskilling highly qualified military veterans in advanced manufacturing roles.

The Academy of Advanced Manufacturing (AAM) is a paid, 12-week training program for veterans who previously held technical positions during their time in the military, helping them to upskill, stay relevant, and redeploy by honing their advanced manufacturing skills. With Rockwell’s hybrid of hands-on laboratory experience and classroom-based instruction in their state-of-the-art facilities, combined with ManpowerGroup’s professional skills training, AAM graduates are well-positioned to successfully assume an Automation & Controls Technician (A&CT) role in the manufacturing industry.

Since 2017, AAM has worked with approximately 70 clients, including some that are repeat or bulk hires, in a variety of manufacturing industries such as Food and Beverage, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Health & Beauty, Life Sciences, and others.

"I had to start from scratch. I got contacted. They were really excited. I was really excited. And I said, hey you know, this program seems like it was made just for me. Not only for veterans, but it's in the manufacturing industry -- controls and automation -- which is something I always wanted to do but was never able to get into." - Travis, U.S. Navy Veteran and AAM participant

"The care and support that went into the program was no small feat.  All you need is a positive attitude, willingness to learn and dedication to better yourself.  If you do those 3 things, you’ll be prepared to walk confidently through the many doors this could open for you. Your success in this program has the capability to change your life completely.” – Chris, U.S. Air Force Veteran and AAM participant
